[ARCHIVED] Cornell Emerson Sheidley (CES) Project Update

CES MAP

Due to current construction & installation of a new water main on the CES Project, water service will be intermittently affected for customers on Cornell, Emerson, Sheidley, Clark and Warner, from East Morse Avenue to East Spring Avenue. Work being done includes flushing main lines, testing water flow and quality, and connecting the new main line to each individual service as well as sidewalk repair and installation. Unexpected circumstances may arise causing disruptions to service in areas adjacent to the project zone. This project will continue for the next several months.

During this project you may notice discoloration of the water due to the disruption of flow in the main line that can stir up deposits causing water to appear brownish, or air in the lines causing the water to appear milky white. If discoloration occurs, the City recommends opening at least one, if not all, cold water faucets and running water through the lines until clear.

We apologize for any inconvenience during this infrastructure upgrade. City crews are working alongside the project contractors in an effort to reduce the impact as much as possible. You may contact Clint Worrall, Chief Distribution Operator at 913-240-1845 or Public Works at 913-441-1961 if you have any questions or concerns. Your patience and understanding is appreciated.
