CONSENT AGENDA

The City Council will consider Consent Agenda items by one motion with no discussion unless the City Council, Staff or the audience requests removal of an item from the Consent Agenda.  The City Council will consider an item removed from the Consent Agenda as the next item after their action on the Consent Agenda.

Minutes of the April 26, 2021 City Council Meeting

Action
Make a motion to approve the minutes of the April 26, 2021 City Council Meeting as presented.
Recommendation
The City Clerk recommends approval.
2.

Claims for City Operations

Staff enclosed the supplement claims for City operations in the amount of $16,952.22, regular claims in the amount of $302,232.30 and utility Billing refunds of $387.72.


Action
Make a motion to approve the claims for City operations for May 10, 2021.
Recommendation
The Finance Director recommends approval.

Claims for Public Housing Authority

Staff enclosed the Public Housing Authority regular claims in the amount of $ 1,265.57.


Action
Make a motion to approve the Public Housing Authority claims for May 10, 2021.
Recommendation
The Public Housing Authority Director recommends approval.

Appointments to Boards and Commissions

Planning Commission - Appoint Vincent Bombardier to fill a vacant position for a three-year term ending August 2024.

First Quarter 2021 Financial Statements

Staff attached the Budget Report, Investment Report, and Treasurer's Report for the first quarter of 2021.
Action
Make a motion to accept the First Quarter 2021 Financial Reports.
Recommendation
The Finance Director recommends approval.

1.

2021 Resurfacing Project - Change Order No. 1


Action
Make a motion to approve the 2021 Street Resurfacing project Change Order No. 1 with J.M. Fahey Construction Company in the amount of $124,240.
Recommendation
The Deputy Director of Public Works and Street Foreman recommend approval.
2.

Downtown Overlay - Change Order No. 1

The City Council recently approved a contract to perform street resurfacing on multiple asphalt streets focused in the Downtown Business District area.  KDOT Economic Development grant funds will pay for 75% of the construction work and approval has been acquired to extend the grant funding to resurface the two designated parking lots downtown.

This a request to approve a Change Order to resurface two downtown parking lots.
Action
Make a motion to approve Change Order No. 1 with J.M. Fahey Construction Company for Asphalt Resurfacing of two (2) downtown parking lots in the amount of $68,550.25.
Recommendation
The Public Works Director recommends approval.
3.

Ordinance to Adopt the Codification of Ordinances of the City

Action
Make a motion to approve an ordinance to adopt the Codification of the Codes of the City of Bonner Springs, Kansas.
Recommendation
The City Clerk recommends approval.
