Department Information

The department was organized in 1976 with a federal grant to purchase two ambulances and equipment. Department staffing, which averages around 30 members, was completely volunteer until February 2001. The department then began operating with a combination of volunteer staff and paid staff. Two ambulance units, equipped for ALS, are housed at City Hall. The EMS headquarters is located at 209 Cedar, which is adjacent to City Hall. Chad Cannon, M.D. is the department’s medical advisor.
