The Public Housing Authority (PHA) Office is open Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Applications for housing assistance can be acquired at this location, 420 North Park, or by calling (913) 441-3816.
Facilities
The Bonner Springs Low-Rent Housing Development opened in 1970, and the City of Bonner Springs assumed management of the assisted housing program in 1977. The Housing Authority manages 48 housing units for the elderly and families. Vaughn-Dale Apartments is a 3-story building for the elderly and handicap, and there are five 4-plex sites for families.
Eligibility
Individuals eligible for public housing assistance include elderly families, including persons with disabilities; displaced persons and single persons.
Requirements:
- Must meet income requirements
- Be a citizen of the United States or have eligible immigration status
- Be at least 18 years old
- Prove that you will be a good tenant
- Must not owe any money to the Public Housing Authority from a previous tenancy.
