Shower Better Month!
October is Shower Better Month

The Environmental Protection Agency has declared October Shower Better Month.  Did you know that showering is one of the leading ways Americans use water in the home?  Showering accounts for nearly 17 percent of residential indoor water use.  For the average family, that is nearly 40 gallons per day.

To many consumers, the shower represents "me time".  They use this time to escape from the world, wake up, wind down, or get ready to tackle the day.  The average family could save 2,900 gallons of water per year - the amount of water it takes to wash more than 70 loads of laundry -  just by installing WaterSense labeled showerheads.

The WaterSense label ensures that these products provide a satisfactory shower that is equal to or better than conventional showerheads on the market.  You will enjoy the same level of coverage and spray intensity you expect, but with a reduction of water use.  You shower better - not shorter and save 4 gallons of water every time you enjoy your shower.  Since these water savings will reduce demands on water heaters, you also save energy.  The average family can save more than 370 kilowatts hours of electricity annually - the amount of energy it takes to power a house for 13 days.

On a national scale, if every household in the United States installed a WaterSense labeled showerhead, we could save more than $2.2 billion in water utility bills and more than 260 billion gallons of water per year.  In addition, we could save about $2.6 billion in energy costs for water heating.  So, let's all Shower Better!
