Quest for the Blarney Stone
The Blarney Stone
Blarney Stone Winners
Winners of the 2016 Quest for the Blarney Stone.
The Stone was hidden in Kerry Roberts Park.

For over 200 years, world statesmen, literary giants, and movie stars have joined the millions of pilgrims climbing the steps of the ancient Blarney Castle in Cork, Ireland to kiss the magical Blarney Stone.  Blarney Castle was built nearly six hundred years ago by one of Ireland's greatest chieftains, Cormac MacCarthy.

There are many stories as to the origin of the stone, but its powers are unquestioned.  Legend has it that the stone carries the Gift of Eloquence.  Kiss it and you'll never again be lost for words.

The Parks and Recreation Department has stumbled across their own Blarney Stone and has it hidden in one of our local city parks.  Clues are posted on our website, Facebook, and at the Community Center. The person that recovers the Blarney Stone must bring it to the Bonner Springs Community Center and will then be pleasantly rewarded with a 10 Punch Pass to the Aquatic Park just in time for the St. Patrick’s Holiday.

Clue #1:  The bands are playing, Spring is here, but this stone is not near.

Clue #2:  This may come as a shocker, but this stone is not good at soccer. With that remark, you will not find it at that park.

Clue #3:  Baseball, hot-dogs, apple pie, in this park I do not lie.

Clue #4: I love the trees and the leaves. Come find me please.

Clue #5: Tired and cold am I. Under the seat I lie.
