Community Information - Tiblow Days
Sponsored by the Bonner Springs and Edwardsville Chamber of Commerce and the City of Bonner Springs
August 27-29, 2009 Downtown Bonner Springs K-32 exit from K-7 Highway
The Bonner Springs-Edwardsville Chamber of Commerce sponsors Tiblow Days, the city's annual heritage festival, and is celebrated the last weekend in August prior to Labor Day. Bonner Springs was originally named "Tiblow" in honor of Henry Tiblow, a Delaware Indian who operated a ferry across the Kansas River. The City was renamed Bonner Springs in the 1880's. This popular festival has grown to a 3-day affair starting with the Mayor's Banquet on Thursday evening, followed by activities on Friday and Saturday consisting of a parade, carnival, country-western and rock bands, craft and food booths, sanctioned BBQ competition, car show and local entertainment. Activities and events take place at K-32 (Cedar Street) and Second, K-32 and Third, Oak Street, Second and Elm.
Contact information and dates and times of events are listed on the Chamber of Commerce web site, www.lifeisbetter.org.
