Utility Locates
For safety purposes and to eliminate utility service interruptions, you are responsible for making sure that utility lines are located before beginning any project that involves digging or excavation (i.e. planting trees or shrubs, building construction, etc.). This includes locating private service connections to homes.
"Kansas One Call" provides a free location service for customers of their member utilities. Most Bonner Springs utilities are members of this service, so start by contacting Kansas One Call, 1-800-DIGSAFE (344-7233) at least 2 business days in advance of your work to request utilities locations. If any utilities are not covered by this service, contact that company directly.
