Aquatic Park Regulations and Admissions
Regulations and Admissions
- Minimum age for admission without a responsible adult is ten (10) years of age.
- All individuals must be accompanied by an adult (13 years and older) if nine (9) years or younger.
- All individuals entering the aquatic facility must pay the applicable fees, including supervising adults.
- All individuals must be properly attired in bathing suits as required by health regulations.
- Patrons with open wounds, diarrhea, infection and any communicable disease are not permitted in the water area.
- Patrons under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and/or who demonstrate behavior that is detrimental to the operation of the pool and the safety of others will not be admitted.
- Coolers, jugs and/or food MAY NOT be brought into the facility. One plastic container for water per person will be allowed.
General Facility Rules
- Neither the City of Bonner Springs nor the Bonner Springs Aquatic Park is responsible for the loss of personal belongings.
- Conduct which may result in injury is not permitted. This includes running, rough play, intentional splashing and personal conduct endangering the safety of self and others.
- The Aquatics Director and the management on duty have the right to close the pool due to inclement weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
- No climbing or hanging on the equipment.
- Proper swimsuit attire must be worn at all times. Jeans, cut-offs, thongs, colored t-shirts or other swimsuits determined inappropriate by management will not be permitted. Shirts are not encouraged to be worn in the water.
- Incontinent persons, infants and babies not toilet trained are required to wear a swim diaper, which are available for purchase at the entrance. Diapers must be changed at the diaper changing stations in the locker rooms or rest rooms only. Swim diapers only in the water. Swim suits are required to be worn over the swim diapers.
- Only Coast Guard (USCG) approved lifejackets may be worn, types I, II, III, and V. An adult must stay within an arms reach of anyone wearing a USCG approved personal flotation device (PFD). No other type of PFD will be permitted (Examples: rings, noodles, rafts, floaties and wings, etc.).
- Pool toys are allowed in the zero-depth area, with the exception of torpedoes, hard diving sticks, beach balls, rafts, noodles, etc.
- Smoking or the use of tobacco is ONLY permitted in the designated area outside of the aquatic facility.
- Abusive or profane language is prohibited.
- The outside temperature must be 70 degrees minimum to open the facility (as per the Aquatics Director).
- Silhouettes, mannequins and other training devices in use. Please do not disturb.
Diving Board
- One person at a time on the diving board. Divers must wait on the ground until the person in front is in the water. Once the first person has exited the water, then the next diver may proceed.
- Walk to the end of the board.
- Only one bounce.
- No swinging on the rails.
- Divers must perform safe jumps and dives.
- No gainers.
- Only divers are allowed in the diving well.
- Divers must be able to swim to the ladder by themselves; please use nearest ladder to exit the diving well; do not use the wall. Participants need to be able to swim and recover by themselves.
- No goggles, PFD's, toys or other items are allowed in the diving well.
Basketball
- No grasping or hanging on the rim.
- Players must be in the water to participate.
- No PFD's allowed. Participants need to be able to swim and recover by themselves.
- No rough play.
- Ball must remain the basketball area.
Slides
- Riders must be 48" is ride (4'). No exceptions. Participants will be measured prior to riding.
- The lifeguard will issue the signal when the rider may start the ride.
- Maximum rider weight is 300 pounds.
- Swimwear with exposed zippers, buckles, rivets, etc. are not permitted. No jewelry.
- Riders must exit the splash pool immediately. No swimming in the splash pool.
- Must ride feet first, sitting or lying on the back.
- Do not run, dive, stand, kneel, rotate or stop on the slide.
- Keep arms and legs inside the flume at all times.
- No goggles, PFD's, toys or other items allowed on the slides.
- Participants need to be able to swim and recover by themselves.
Zero-depth and Play Units
- Play units are reserved for youth nine (9) years and younger.
- Remain seated on the floatables. No standing, jumping or diving.
- No pushing or pulling others off the floatables.
- No running.
Lockers
- You may bring your own lock to put on a locker. Please remove at the end of the day. All locks remaining at the end of the day will be cut.
- Please do not hang on or slam locker doors.
- Please do not loiter or play near locker area.
- The City of Bonner Springs and/or staff are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Concession Stand
- Please do not block the entrance to the concession stand.
- All food and drinks must stay within the concession area, with the exception of water bottles.
- Please place all trash in the proper containers.
- Please do not loiter in the concession area.
Breezeway
- Please do not loiter in the breezeway.
Refund Policy
All daily refunds will be assessed and approved by the supervisor on duty. No cash refunds. All day passes will be time stamped at time of purchase. For unforeseen circumstances within three (3) hours of purchase, the day pass will be able to be applied to another visit.
For all other refund requests, a refund request form will need to be completed, along with a written statement as to why a refund is requested, and turned into the Aquatics Director. The Aquatics Director will review the request and make a decision; if approved, please allow two (2) to four (4) weeks for processing.
