  • An occasion for community members to provide thoughts about possible solutions

The feedback provided by community members will be used in selecting a set of priorities to be addressed through planning and collaborative action through a Community Health Improvement Plan.

“Community input has been gathered at each step of the community health assessment process. These listening sessions provide an opportunity to share what we have learned in the assessment with community residents, and to hear back from residents concerning their opinions of prioritizing health strategies,” said Terry Brecheisen, Unified Government Public Health Department Director.

The community health assessment is a comprehensive, countywide effort to understand the health status of Wyandotte County residents, and factors that have an impact on health.  Led by a steering committee of more than 20 community partners, the community health assessment began in November 2016. The issues identified in the community health assessment and selected as priorities will be the subject of planning efforts to occur between June and December 2017.
