For over 200 years, world statesmen, literary giants, and movie stars have joined the millions of pilgrims climbing the steps of the ancient Blarney Castle in Cork, Ireland to kiss the magical Blarney Stone. Blarney Castle was built nearly six hundred years ago by one of Ireland's greatest chieftains, Cormac MacCarthy. There are many stories as to the origin of the stone, but its powers are unquestioned. Legend has it that the stone carries the Gift of Eloquence. Kiss it and you'll never again be lost for words.
The Parks and Recreation Department has stumbled across their own Blarney Stone and has it hidden in one of our local city parks. Clues are posted on our website, Facebook, and at the Community Center. The person that recovers the Blarney Stone must bring it to the Bonner Springs Community Center and will then be pleasantly rewarded with a 10 Punch Pass to the Aquatic Park just in time for the St. Patrick’s Holiday.
Clue #1: Shoot a goal or swim around but here the stone cannot be found.
Clue #2: If you are searching for more clues you will not find it while playing horseshoes. 100 years it will not take, nor sweet sounds of instruments does it wake.
Clue #3: Hear me roar my very best, this is the park where I rest. Muddy shoes is your next clue, this park project to be finished soon.
