Bring the family for an afternoon at North Park Lake on Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. Youth participants under 15 years old are divided into three age groups for a chance to win prizes for the smallest, longest, and most fish. This is a fun experience for all to enjoy.
Child must be present at the awards to win. No exceptions!
Prizes – There are three awards divisions – Age 1-6; 7-9 & 10-15. There will be a chance to win prizes for the smallest, longest, and most fish.
Children must be 15 years old or younger to participate. Children 15 and younger do not need a license. Parents need a license to fish.
Each child should have no more than one rod with one hook or lure in use at a time.
Derby fishing is not limited to any particular species of fish; bluegill, bass, trout, catfish, all count towards a child’s total catch. Sorry, ducks, geese, frogs and turtles do not count.
Fishing is limited to the lake shoreline and the dock.
Kids must not cast when people are walking behind them. Parents are requested to monitor this carefully in the interest of safety.
Parents may assist children in the 1-6 age group. Children in the 7-15 age groups must cast, hook, and catch the fish on their own. Parents may assist with baiting the hook and taking fish off the hook
Participants are responsible for bringing their own basket or stringer and must remove their own fish from their stringer.
