Each spring members from the Bonner Beautiful Commission organize a citywide clean-up event to correspond with the celebration of Earth Day. This annual community event is held the third Saturday in April from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 pm. Residents, civic organizations, scouts, businesses, schools and church groups are invited to volunteer four hours of time to remove litter from city parks and public right-of-ways along streets and highways. Immediately following the clean-up, volunteers are provided a picnic lunch and receive additional incentives from local business merchants in appreciation for the community effort to keep Bonner Beautiful. Watch for details each spring on the city’s website or on posted flyers for sign up information.
The “Snow Angels” program was established to help people who cannot clear snow and ice from their primary sidewalks, driveways, or driveway entrances. The program works by connecting people who are willing to volunteer their time to clear snow with individuals who do not have a family member or neighbor to assist and have physical and financial constraints. If you or someone you know is unable to remove snow or if you are willing to become a volunteer Snow Angel, please fill out the Snow Angel Application or contact Barbara Bille, Nuisance Code Officer at (913) 422-7800 or sign up at City Hall.
